Social Bill Bonus 2024: Everything You Need to Know

TheBonus Sociale Bollette 2024 is a benefit designed to help Italian families manage the costs of electricity, gas and water. This bonus is designed for those with an ISEE below specific thresholds, offering economic support for those in financial difficulty.


Duration and How It Works


The bonus is valid for the whole of 2024 and applies to only one supply for each type of service (electricity, gas, water). Each family can have a bonus for each user, including residents in condominiums, provided that the contract is registered in the name of a member of the family unit.

For those who have presented the DSU and have an ISEE lower than the thresholds established, the bonus is paid automatically. Families with serious health conditions, who need electro-medical equipment, must apply to the Municipality or through a CAF, such as Clip ;)


Bonus amounts


From 1st April 2024, the extra bonus for the energy crisis is no longer available. Here are the bonus amounts for the period April-December 2024:


  • Electricity Bonus:


    • Families with 1-2 members:€142,74 per year

    • Families with 3-4 members:€183 per year

    • Famiglie con oltre 4 componenti: €201.30 annually


  • Gas Bonus: The value changes monthly based on the price of gas and use (hot water, cooking, heating) and climate zone. The amount tends to be higher in winter and lower in summer.


ISEE requirements


For 2024, thebill bonus can be requested if your ISEE is less than:


  • €9,530 for the ordinary bonus

  • €20,000 per famiglie con almeno quattro figli a carico


Changes in 2024



With the end of the extra bonus and the return of the standard VAT rates on gas (from 10% to 22%) , bills will be higher than in 2023. However, the social bonus remains a valuable help in dealing with rising energy costs.
