Update: 16 Jan

In a previous article we started talking about theIncome tax return, that is, a document that is drawn up annually to inform the tax authorities on that which is thecontribution capacity of a company or a natural person. What is the purpose of giving this information? Simply that of paying a fair level of taxes, commensurate with the income received and which can benefit from all thedeductions and deductions that the law makes available.

Today we talk about themodel 730, one of the two models for the tax return of natural persons. The other is theincome of natural persons model, which corresponds to the former Unico model and which we will explore in more detail in a future news story.

Who must file the 730 form

The 730 form is intended for people who have received income from:

  • employment

  • pension

  • rental of land or buildings

  • occasional self-employment

  • other types similar to the previous ones such as, for example, income deriving from holding elective institutional positions, scholarships, maintenance allowances and more.

As regards income from occasional self-employment, it should be specified that the 730 form can only be presented by those who do not have aVAT number, otherwise it will be necessary to fill in the income form for natural persons.

When it is not necessary to present the 730 form…

Are there cases in which the taxpayer is not required to present the tax return? Certainly yes. Let's see what they are.

Those who receive exclusively:

Those who earn incomes below certain thresholds which may vary from year to year are also exempt from filing. For example, if your income in 2022 is less than 8 thousand euros, you are not required to file a tax return.
